International part of our drive for sustainability Brent citizens are exceptionally diverse with many links with families and friends in poor countries Being a Fairtrade Borough boosts Brent’s reputation Something tangible we can all do to tackle poverty Fairtrade benefits 7 million people through fair pay for work in decent conditions

BRENT IS NOW A FAIRTRADE BOROUGH 1.Council commitment: resolutions, procurement policies, stalls, support to Brent Fairtrade Network 2.147 shops and 24 cafés sell 2+ Fairtrade products 3.Local organizations support Fairtrade: – North West London Hospitals NHS Trust – 29 faith groups, 22 schools, University of Westminster – Community groups eg BSF and its Members! 4.Media coverage and 110 events 5.Brent Fairtrade Network: 130 members
