Introduction The implementation of an industry wide initiative as comprehensive as the movement to VICS 4010 will require a resolution process to address standards related issues. Therefore an implementation resolution process has been established to ensure timely resolution and to ensure consistency in implementation. Note: This process will only address standards related issues, and not issues arising from application limitations.

Objectives Maintain harmonious Trading Partner Relationships Address Business needs over system needs Endorse and formally submit required standards changes Timely resolution (within 4 weeks were standards changes are not required

Structure A committee of 5 members is to be created preferably from the group who developed the implementation guides. Two members each representing distributors and suppliers and one neutral part (one of the co-chairs of the ECCC Industry Standards Advisory Committee)

Procedure 4Documented complaint will be sent to co-chairs of the EDI Technology Committee. Complaint will outline the following points: 4Identify trading partners involved 4Identify transaction sets 4description of issue and problem 4suggested approach to resolve the situation

Procedure Upon receipt of complaint the co-chair will remove the names of the trading partners from the “complaint” and forward it to the other co-chair and members of the Implementation Guideline Committee. A review date will be scheduled within two weeks to discuss and recommend a solution. The recommended solution or judgement is to: be routed back to one of the co-chairs who will notify the complainant of the outcome.

Procedure ·If the recommended solution is to: ·Change the guidelines: The co-chairs will authorize the change to the guidelines and notify the membership at large indicating the rationale. ·Change the Standards: The co-chairs and the ISAC standards representative shall forward the draft request to the appropriate standards body and post a notice on the ECCC web site to advise the membership and indicate status.

Procedure Upon approval or refusal of the proposed change, the complainant is to be advised by the co-chair and Guidelines will be changed if required.

Appeals Only those judgements that have not gone to the Standards bodies will be eligible for the appeal process. Appeals are to be requested in writing stating the position being challenged and the arguments against the initial ruling to either co-chair within 30 days of the judgement. Appeal verdicts are final.

Appeals Process Appeals are to be presented by the requester of the appeal with the other affected party to a committee consisting of: The Implementation Guideline Chair, the two co-chairs of the EDI Subcommittee in a meeting (conference call) arranged by the co-chair to be scheduled within two weeks of receiving the notice
