2 Theme and Mood Every play has to have some sort of theme throughout. Examples: good vs. evil, revenge, love and loss, etc. An overall mood should be felt throughout the play.

4 Characters: Protagonist- the character with the goal that moves the plot forward- NOT the “good guy” Antagonist- the character who creates obstacles and prevents the main character from achieving their goal These do not need to be people

5 Parts of a play Exposition Rising action Climax Falling action Resolution Plot Simile/Metaphor/Foreshadowing
