2 Lets Take a Trip to the Farm Who will we see at the farm? Farmer Turkeys Chickens Pigs Cows Horses Sheep

3 All About the Farmer What does the farmer do? Grows food Takes care of the animals

4 All About Turkeys Turkeys can be black, brown, or white. The turkey is the biggest bird on the farm. A male turkey is called a Tom and a female turkey is called a Hen. A baby turkey is called a poult. They eat insects, plants, and wheat. Wild turkeys can fly and do not like water.

5 All About Chickens and Pigs Chickens A kind of bird Eat wheat, grains, and cereal Give us eggs and meat Pigs Give us bacon and ham There are 15 different kinds of pigs in U.S.

6 All About Cows Cows Eat grass. A baby cow is called a calf. They give us meat and milk. We use milk to make other things we eat like cheese, yogurt and ice cream.

7 All About Horses Eat grass. Sometimes used for riding or to go places. Sometimes used to help pull carts or other things around the farm.

8 All About Sheep Have thick heavy coats. We use the wool from sheep to make clothes. The male sheep is called a ram, the female sheep is called an ewe. Baby sheep are called lamb.
