2 First, make sure that you are on the home tab across the top. Next locate the word Font in the ribbon, again, across the top. Within the Font box you will be able to choose your font, the size of the font, whether it should be bold, italic or underlined, the color of the font and whether you want it lowercase, UPPERCASE, and so on. Simply move your cursor to the text you want to change and highlight it. Then chose from the text box the size, type, color and so forth. If you make a mistake, you can always go back to where you were by pressing the blue arrow at the very top of the page. It is fun to play around with the type of text. If you forget what something in the text box stands for just move your cursor over the symbol and it will give you a brief description. HOW TO FORMAT FONT AND COLOR

3 In the ribbon across the top, you will find a box titled paragraph. In this box you are able to align your text to the left, in the center, to the right, or you may justify your text. All you need to do is highlight the text you want to change and then click on the one you want. In this box you are also able to chose the spacing of your text or split text into columns. 4 First click on the tab titled page layout. Next, click on margins. You have several options. You many chose one of the choices or you may custom set your margins to any size you would like. Just click on custom at the bottom and then choose the size you would like. 5 Before attempting to bullet of number a list of events, you must return to the home tab at the top of the page. After typing a list, a sentence, a paragraph or whatever you may be typing, if you would like to number the events simply look in the paragraph box and click on the bullet symbol. Next to the symbol is a drop down and you may chose from a variety of bullets. Right next to it is the number symbol. If you click on the drop down you will see that you can use numbers or letters to make your list. 6 To insert graphics you must go to the tab titled insert. You may chose from a picture, clipart, shapes, smart art, or a chart. You may manipulate the graphic to make it fit your needs. You also are able to drag it where you would like it. Remember, If you forget what something in the insert box stands for just move your cursor over the symbol and it will give you a brief description. Inserting graphics is a piece of cake! 7 To create a hyperlink you must click on the insert tab at the top. Click on hyperlink and you must paste the url from the website you are trying to link to into the box on the page. http://www.msn.com/ When viewing the slide show, just click on the link and it should open. 8 You can simply save a document by clicking on the symbol at the top of the page. You may also click on the file tab. You can click on save or save as. You then must decide where you would like to save it. The options are listed on the left hand side and include: favorites and libraries as well as many other options. Next you need to decide what type of document you want it saved as. This is a drop down menu underneath file name. Be sure to name your file so that you can easily find it when you want to go back to it. HOW TO SAVE A DOCUMENT
