1 Date CA Question Learning Objectives: 1.To understand the requirements of the CA question.

2 Learning Objectives: 1.To understand the requirements of the CA question. Explore the characteristic features of spoken language used by yourself, your family and your friendship groups. You must show evidence of understanding the following: Variations in spoken language, explaining why language changes in relation to context. Evaluate the impact of spoken language choices in their own and others’ use.

4 Success Criteria Point – engage with the speaker directly. Make a statement about their character which you will be able to expand upon. Evidence – select the best bit of evidence which you will use to back up your point. Explain – zoom in on one or two key features within the evidence and explain fully how these support your point. You need to explore the context of the conversation. Attitudes – zoom out of the specifics and explore what attitudes exist towards language using this example and explain why these exist and if they are justified. 5 Bringing Everything Together 1.Using your annotated data, you need to start linking in various attitudes. Use the questionnaires, the attitudes sheet and your own thoughts here. Read through all your attitudes information and start making links on your annotated data as to which attitudes link up best with which evidence. Remember: you can include contrasting attitudes! You should aim to pick 6 of the best bits of data (MAY BE A COUPLE OF LINES) that you know you can write the most detail about. You will need to be judicious in your approach here.

6 Practice Paragraph With this new information about attitudes, you need write a practice paragraph which goes in to depth about context and attitudes. Point – engage with the speaker directly. 8 Bringing Everything Together Each paragraph your write needs to be PEE. Each paragraph needs to include attitudes. The depth of analysis will depend on how many marks you get. You will only be writing 4/5 pages.
