1 STAKEHOLDER MAPPING: THE INITIATIVE addressing displacement together The purpose of the stakeholder mapping is to identify entry points to influence humanitarian and development policy discussions to take account of the needs of displaced people. There are numerous – almost endless – policy fora that Members can utilise to put displacement on the humanitarian and development agenda and influence upcoming policy debates. Several initiatives, groups, and policy fora have been identified as highly influential, and could be seen as the highest priority entry points for influencing policy. Read on…….

2 STAKEHOLDER MAPPING: THE INITIATIVE addressing displacement together ORGANISATION FOR ECONOMIC COOPERATION AND DEVELOPMENT, OECD http://www.oecd.org/ab out/ ENTRY POINTS THE DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANCE COMMITTEE, OECD-DAC OECD DAC is the forum for the world's main donors and other relevant groups define and standards in key areas of development. Through inclusive partnerships, OECD DAC works to improve the lives of people in the developing world by understanding development finance; strengthening aid delivery; improving development policy; and building partnerships for development. THE DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANCE COMMITTEE, OECD-DAC http://www.oecd.org/dac/ International Network on Conflict and Fragility (INCAF) http://www.oecd.org/dac/ INCAF is a subsidiary body of the OECD Development Assistance Committee (OECD-DAC) and works on policy and programming to assist development partners, international organisations and partner countries to respond to conflict and fragility. INCAF facilitates coordination between these diverse stakeholders and provides a platform for shared experiences, including in the area of peacebuilding and statebuilding. TRIANGULAR COOPERATION FORA Triangular co-operation fora bring together the best of different actors - providers of development co-operation, partners in South- South co-operation and international organisations - to share knowledge and implement projects that support the common goal of reducing poverty and promoting development. These fora provide opportunities to feed into development discussion within the wide OECD spectrum and offer an opportunity contribute to, and influence the global development policy agenda. OTHER OECD DAC GLOBAL NETWROKS Various DAC networks host dialogues, carry out research, and support policy development on different issues: human rights and development; capacity development; governance; strengthening aid management; pro-poor growth; empowerment and poverty reduction. All these areas relate to a comprehensive approach to development which will support solutions to displacement. Numerous workshops and conferences offer the opportunity to engage. E.G. 3 STAKEHOLDER MAPPING: THE INITIATIVE addressing displacement together ENTRY POINTS UN DEVELOPMENT COOPERATION FORUM, UN DCF Reviews trends in international development cooperation and facilitates coherence among the various development actors. It brings together decision makers from developing and developed countries, parliamentarians, civil society organizations, local government and private philanthropic organisations. The DCF sessions and events spur debate on national policies that have advanced development achievements. The UN DCF is convened every two years, and the Forum falls under ECOSOC. UN DEVELOPMENT COOPERATION FORUM https://www.un.org/en/ecosoc/dcf/ ECOSOC SUBSIDIARY BODIES, E.G. COMMISSION FOR SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT ECOSOC has several subsidiary bodies that discuss development policy on several different thematic areas that relate to the broad displacement agenda. Three examples of many groupings are: Commission for Social Development Commission on Sustainable Development Commission on Technology and Development ECOSOC SUBSIDIARY BODIES http://csonet.org/?menu=123 INFLUENTIAL ORGANISATION / GROUP ENTRY POINTS UN ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL COUNCIL, ECOSOC http://www.un.org/en/e cosoc/about/index.shtml ECOSOC ECOSOC is the prominent forum where the world’s economic, social and environmental issues are discussed. ECOSOC has broad responsibility for some 70% of the human and financial resources of the entire UN system. The biggest gathering of ECOSOC is a month-long session held in July, rotating between Geneva and New York and covers five segments: high level; coordination; operational activities; humanitarian affairs; and general issues.
