2 GENERAL INFORMATION tropical rainforest is a biome type that occurs roughly within the latitudes 28 degrees north or south of the equator. They are found all over the world but the majority of the tropical rainforest lies in South America in Brazil. Rainforests are extremely important because the water they produce is evaporated and then used as rain in other areas. The average temperature of the tropical rainforest remains between 70 and 85° F.

3 ABIOTIC FACTORS Hot and wet year-round, thin nutrient and poor foil Because this biome is located very close to the equator, it has very little seasonal change in temperature or the length of a day. Without the right amount of water and sunlight the trees in the rainforest would not be able to grow and would die.

4 TROPICAL RAINFOREST DOMINANT WILDLIFE DOMINANT PLANTS
Tropical forests are the home to a huge number of animal species. In fact, the number of species living in these two types of tropical forests is more than all other habitats combined. Rainforest plants live in a warm humid environment that allows an enormous variation rare in more temperate climates: some like the orchids have beautiful flowers adapted to attract the profusion of forest insects.

5 GEOGRAPHIC DISTRIBUTION
Parts of South and Central America , Southeast Asia , parts of Africa , Southern India and Northern Australia. The temperature in a rainforest barely gets higher than 93 degrees Fahrenheit (34 degrees) or falls below 68 degrees Fahrenheit (20 degrees Celsius)
