3 2013-2014 President’s Goals Initiatives 1. Improve Service to Members Offer more webinars and networking opportunities, offer a variety of programs at different prices in various locations 2. Increase Online Presence Reach out to new groups and potential members through Meetup and compatible groups such as BWA and DMELD 3. Recruit More Volunteers RMC needs managers and committee members to fulfill its mission, offers Active Member Rewards Program (AMRP) 4. Continue Fiscal Responsibility Evaluate costs vs. value and spend money wisely

4 Chapter Membership  150 members as of May 10  Located in Arizona, California, Colorado, Texas, and Utah (USA) plus Ontario, Canada  Welcomed former Intermountain Chapter members in early 2014

5 Chapter Finances  For the last several years, our financial goal has been to attain a zero-based budget  Expenses for the 2013-2014 year  $3,212 (through May 11)  Income for the 2013-2014 year (to date)  $3,234 (includes rebate)  International rebate based on dues: $2,550  RMC has a healthy financial reserve thanks to the efforts of the late George Hoerter

7 Northern Colorado Satellite  Who: Anyone  When: 2nd Wednesdays, September-June  Where: Panera Bread, Front Range Village, Fort Collins  Manager: Carmen Carmack  Purpose:  Mentoring  Networking  Supplement to Denver programs

8 Chapter Meetings  Who: Anyone  When: 3rd Thursdays, September-May  Where: Location varies per event  Purpose  Professional development  Networking and support  ~80 unique attendees over the 2013-2014 year

11 Chapter Programs (Contd)  October 2013: 3D Printing mixer & demo at The 3D Printing Store, Denver  September 2013: Kit Brown-Hoekstra, Communication Catalysts, about how technical communicators can change the world

12 Webinars  February 2014: Maxwell Hoffman, Adobe Technical Communications Suite (TCS)  November 2013: Michael Hamilton of MadCap Software, Single-Sourcing Strategies for translation, graphics and multimedia  Ongoing: STC Leadership series (program planning, tools, etc.), open to all members

13 Networking  January and April 2014 at Panera Bread, E. Hampden Avenue, Denver  One location to concentrate contact  Over 20 attendees each session

16 Website and Web Team  The Web Team  Integrated Google calendar into the site  Implemented single username login for RMC website and Technicalities blog to use one logical process and simplify maintenance  Enhanced repository of website procedures  Continued improving council access area and developing intuitive file structure  Maintained website accounts, Discussion list, and Jobs list  Performed ongoing maintenance and archiving

17 AMRP  Active Member Rewards Program (AMRP) rewards chapter members for participation  Various activities earn 1 or 2 points  Earn 15+ points for a $25 Amazon gift card  Earn 10 – 14 points for a $10 Amazon gift card  7 members earned 15+ points in 2013 for effectively a free chapter membership  16 members on track for 2014 year  Blog, attend meetings, or volunteer to win!
