My Class I joined Long Lee Primary School in September 2012 I teach year 6 Several children in the class with SEBD I am not the SENCO / Leader of Inclusion I have identified some of the strategies that I have used in my classroom to include children with SEBD.

The power of positivity Praise – Verbal, Gestures, Appropriate for the child Encourage the behaviour you want to see – I like the way… Try to keep to the ratio – even though it can be hard!

Sticker Charts * Used to praise good behaviour Visual Positive Building up to a goal Can be over time

Visual Reminder and Reflection Cards * Used to make it clear a reminder / reflection has been given Visual Same every time Returned to the board afterwards – Everyone makes mistakes - Let’s put it right

Fair Rules of Our School Discussed with children Explained why we have these rules Non negotiable

Golden Time Football Friday Points are lost for breaking the Fair Rules of our School Results in less time to play football
