Key Institutions

Data sources Aviation: Swedish Civil Aviation Administration (SCAA) Statistics Sweden – Monthly oil statistics (aviation fuels) Swedish Armed Forces - Military activities Navigation: Statistics Sweden - Monthly oil statistics

Aviation SCAA – Information on domestic and international traffic, divided on LTO and cruise Only governmental airports included SCAA data is adjusted with national amounts of aviation fuels to cover all civil aviation activities Emissions from military aviation activities are reported separately

Aviation Difficulties to estimate aviation activities from private airports and within agriculture and forestry. Either country-specific or default CORINAIR EF’s are being used.

Monthly oil statistics The statistics are based on information of delivered amounts of fuel from wholesale dealers on national level. It is a monthly survey which includes all oil trade companies and other liable to maintain stocks of fuels, other companies with large import. Mail survey which includes 70 companies

Monthly oil statistics The data from the respondents are divided in different cathegories One of the cathegories is bunkering for foreign shipping Another is domestic shipping (excluding fishery) The separation is made by the respondents

Monthly oil statistics One problem in the statistics comes from the separation in cathegories If the oil is delivered to a ship with final destination in Sweden, it is cathegorised as domestic shipping even if the ship visit a foreign country on its way to final destination
