The Constative Aorist places stress on the fact of occurrence, not its nature. The Subjunctive Mood tells of the volitional responsibility of the believer. It is a choice we must make.

RHEMA = “What is said, word, or saying.” Jesus’ spoken words. “Bible Doctrine” John 3:34; 6:63-64; 8:47; 12:47-48; 14:10; 17:7-8.

Principle: We need to GAP it daily and apply His Word daily as the basis of Occupation with Christ.

MENO EN HUMIN “Abide in you all.” Our “abiding” is not defined as a time requirement or number of works we perform. It is simply stressing the occurrence of the event.

THELO – will, desire, wish. Present, Active, Subjunctive, used like a third class if, “maybe”, where the contingency is on what the believer prays for.

The mature believer who abides in Christ will pray, but what they are praying for is not commanded, but left to them to determine.

AITEO = “to ask or request” Ingressive Aorist stresses the beginning of an action or entrance into a state = “you begin to pray.”

The Middle Voice - you pray to God with the result that you are benefited by praying.

The Imperative Mood is for a command to pray. So we are commanded to pray but we are not commanded what to pray for.

GINOMAI - Future, Middle Deponent, Indicative. As a result of praying our prayers will be answered and answered prayers have a benefit to the believer.

John 15:7, “If (and maybe) you are occupied with Me, and (maybe) you are occupied with My words (Bible Doctrine), begin to ask whatever you all desire and it (your prayer petitions) will come to pass (be answered).”

This command involves intimate union and harmony with Christ so that nothing will be asked out of accord with the mind of Christ and so of the Father. Cf. John 14:13; 16:23.

Principles: 1. If you can think straight you can pray right. In Maturity all prayer is effective because you have capacity.

2. The “if” is having a personal relationship with the person of Jesus Christ by listening to the Word of God and obeying His commandments.

3. The “then” is receiving answers to your prayers.

4. Not just anybody can get their prayers answered. You must be abiding in Christ, including utilizing the protocol for prayer.
