2 Injuries: The most common seven injures in basketball are: Ankle Sprains Jammed Fingers Knee Injuries Deep Thigh Bruising Facial Cuts Foot fractures BASKETBALL!

3 Common ways these injures can be prevent are by having pre-season physical examination, following all doctor’s recommendations, making sure that you stretch before and after every training session and game, maintaining proper fitness and also by paying attention to environmental recommendations, especially in relation to excessively hot and humid weather, to avoid heat and illness. If these injuries still happen to occur there are many ways to treat them. For example if you get an ankle sprain it involves treatment that goes by the acronym RICE which stands for rest, ice, compression and elevation.

4 Skills: There are many skills that are needed to be able to play a decent game of basketball. There are known to be seven basic offensive skills in basketball and also basic defensive skills which are: THE 7 BASIC OFFENSIVE SKILLS IN BASKETBALL Players must be able to PASS Players must be able to CATCH Players must be able to DRIBBLE Players must be able to CUT & PIVOT Players must be able to SHOOT Players must be able to LAY-UP left and right handed 7.Players must be able to SCREEN

5 THE 7 BASIC DEFENSIVE SKILLS OF BASKETBALL 1.Players must be able play in a correct STANCE 2.Players must be able to COMMUNICATE to help teammates 3.Players must be able to see the BALL and their OPPONENT at the same time 4.Players must be able to BOX OUT to rebound the ball & prevent opponents from rebounding 5.Players must be able to CLOSE DOWN 6.Players must be able to RUN WITH their OPPONENT 7.Players must be able to BLOCK

6 Superstars: Kobe Bean Bryant was born on August 23, 1978 and is a very well known professional American basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He started playing professional basketball in the NBA at a very young age, which was as soon as he finished high school. He has been loyal to his team the Los Angeles Lakers because he has played in their team his entire career of professional basketball. He has achieved unbelievable things throughout his career, which consist of him being a great team player and helping his team to victory in the NBA championships a massive five times. He has also personally won many awards such as being a 16-time All star, 15- time member of the All-NBA Team, and 12-time member of the All-defensive team. He is most definitely one talented player and has been ranked very highly throughout his career.

7 Lebron Raymore James was born on December 30, 1984. He weights a massive 113kg and his height is 6 pft 8, which is equivalent to 2.03m. He is famous because he is a well-known professional basketball player in America. He plays for the team Miami Heat from the National Basketball association commonly known as the NBA. He has won two NBA championships, four most valuable player awards, two NBA Finals MVP awards, two Olympic gold medals, a NBA scoring title and the NBA Rookie of the Year Award.

8 Soccer! Injuries: There are many different injuries that can occur in soccer, which is also known as football. Most of these injuries as you would predict happen to most frequently affect the legs and feet seeing as you are using them most. Well over 50% of the time the injuries occurred in soccer within the leg and below. The most common 4 areas of injuries are: 1. Ankle 2. Foot 3. Knee 4. Lower leg.

9 A injury in particular that you do not won’t to occur in soccer is known as the ACL which stands for Anterior Cruciate Ligament. This is the most common injury in soccer. There is also quite a few head injuries that can occur in soccer including concussions. These are caused by collisions generally speaking. Ways in which to prevent all of these injuries are to be prepared, wear the right protective gear, use good technique and practices, check out the environment situation on the day (hot or cold temp), and know yourself and the sport.

10 Skills: There are a number of skills and rules needed to be able to play a game of soccer. Individual techniques consist of being able to know how to pass numerous amounts of ways such as inside the foot and the outside of the foot, being able to shoot, control the ball, head the ball, run with the ball and being able to dribble efficiently. You also need to know attacking play and defensive plays. To be able to learn these all and play a confident game of soccer you have to practice them over and over again until ‘practice makes perfect.

11 Superstars: Lionel Andres Messi was born on the 24th of June 1987, therefor making him currently 26. He is a current superstar Argentine footballer who plays as a forward for the Spanish club known as FC Barcelona as well as the Argentina national team. He is the captain of his country’s national football team. By the time he had reached the young age of 21 he had already received a FIFA World Player of the World and Ballon d’Or nomination. When he turned 21, he won the award for both of these categories. He has won many other awards throughout the years continuing on from these. When he was 25 years old he became Barcelona’s all-time top scorer and continuing on from that when he was 25 he then became the youngest player to score 200 goals in La Liga’s matches. Lionel Andres Messi is quite regularly referred to as the greatest player in history by many experts such as coaches and commentators and is commonly ranked as the best player in the world.

12 Cristiano Ronaldo Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Averio is a current superstar in the world of football. He was born on February 1985 making him currently 29 years old. He is often referred to as Cristiano Ronaldo and is Portuguese footballer who also plays as a forward for Spanish Club Real Madrid and captains the Portugal national team. He officially became the most expensive footballer in history of the sport when he decided to make the move to the team Manchester Unite o Real Madrid in 2009 in a transfer worth $132 million. Ronaldo has played and moved from quite a few teams throughout his football career. In both 2008 and 2013, he won the FIFA/Ballon d’Or award for best footballer in the world, the first Portuguese player to ever win this award twice. Carrying on from those awards including some such as the European Golden shoe award many year FIFA World Player of the Year and many more. He has made a massive impact in the Football world and he is a player that will be remembered forever from all of his achievements.
