9. WHAT IS YOUR OPINION? AS YOU CHOOSE A TOPIC, KEEP AN OPEN MIND. YOU DON’T HAVE TO KNOW MUCH ABOUT THE TOPIC OR HAVE AN OPINION ABOUT IT. YOUR RESEARCH WILL HELP YOU LEARN MORE ABOUT YOUR TOPIC AND YOUR DISCOVERIES WILL HELP YOU FORM AN OPINION. REALIZE, TOO, THAT YOUR RESEARCH WILL LEAD YOU IN YOUR DIRECTION – BE PREPARED TO FIND EVIDENCE AGAINST YOUR BELIEF AND CHANGE YOUR VIEW.

10. WHAT ARE YOU INTERESTED IN? CHOOSE A TOPIC THAT HAS A PERSONAL INTEREST OR CONNECTION. DO NOT CHOOSE A TOPIC BECAUSE IT’S EASY TO FIND INFORMATION ABOUT IT. BE READY TO “DIG” FOR INFORMATION ABOUT SOMETHING THAT TRULY INTERESTS YOU. OFTEN THE “EASY” TOPICS ARE ACTUALLY HARDER THAN YOU THINK. IF YOU PICK AN EASY TOPIC THAT BORES YOU, YOU WILL BE BORED THROUGH JANUARY.
