6. Who to Refer? Alexa is 18 and is struggling to complete her HS diploma. She is a C average student, even with her IEP accommodations. She still wants a college experience. Tyler is 17 and has struggled with school, especially reading-heavy subjects. He works much better with his hands. He’ll come to school on the days he has shop class. Dante is 20 and works 2 part-time after school to support his family, but has a hard time keeping a job. Sierra is 19 and a single mother of two children. She would like additional training in the medical field, but she cannot afford daycare. Carrie is 17 and does not have a stable or supportive family and therefore struggles with school. She has so much potential!
