4 Survey data exercise On your table you will find a district level report exploring themes and vulnerable groups Examine the data and prepare a report of key findings – Findings to look for: significant differences, the unexpected, the predictable, the concerning….? Prepare to feedback to the larger group

5 Health Improvement Award Enables schools, colleges and other settings to assess their capability to: – provide a healthy environment (Foundation Level) – to identify areas of need in relation to health and wellbeing (SCYPS) – to develop appropriate mechanisms for addressing those needs (Enhanced Level)

6 Foundation Level Biennial Health Audit – self-assessment checklist – identifies and celebrates the positive – identifies any areas where you may need to take action or develop further work – simple to complete – on-line - report is downloadable/printable

8 Audit Exercise In groups, evaluate your own setting and discuss how it does or does not achieve the items in this section of the audit – Award ‘green’, ‘amber’ or ‘red’ – For any items that are amber or red, consider ways in which to move into the green

11 Survey Findings Secondary age – High self-esteem: boys 46% v girls 23% – Worry quite a lot: 76% – Main concern: Girls: the way they look – 56% Boys: exams and tests – 34% – 21% boy/girlfriend angry or jealous – 14% checking their phone – 15% Year 10 girls experience pressure to have sex/do sexual things
