3 Participants will be enabled to: Gain an understanding of the potential uses of ICT to support literacy development Use digital media and online resources to create teaching and learning resources for literacy development in the primary classroom Become familiar with technologies including digital cameras and visualisers and how they can be used to support literacy Become familiar with some Web 2.0 tools and how they can be used for literacy development Consider strategies for sharing resources in their school Develop an e-Learning Action Plan for literacy which supports school improvement in e-Learning development

A Wiki is a website that let’s others join in to create and edit the content. Wikis are always changing as people add content to it. The word "Wiki" comes from Hawaiian language and means "quick". The most famous Wiki is Wikipedia. It is the largest reference web sites with almost 3 million articles.

12 Just as with paper files, the goal of computer file management is to ensure that you can find what you are looking for, even if you are looking for it years after its creation It is essential that both you and your pupils use a logical system for saving files and retrieving files. As you create more files it will become increasingly difficult to find the files you saved. Without an organised filing system in place you will lose track of what each file contains. It will be time consuming and frustrating when you want to retrieve specific documents if you do not have a filing system, particularly if it is a class activity and there are thirty voices searching for documents that cannot be found.

27 Teacher’s Pet - http://www.teachers-pet.org/http://www.teachers-pet.org/ Once installed a toolbar will appear in Microsoft Word. In Microsoft 2003 – Teacher’s Pet is a very visible toolbar In Microsoft 2007 it appears in the “add in” tab on the top. Many of the tools in teacher’s pet are free some need to be paid for if you wish to use them. Using a Macro for Word (Not in Manual)

28 Highlight the text you want jumbled – Each sentence separately. Click on teacher’s pet and it will jumble them. Put words in a vertical column (not in boxes). Highlight the list and click teacher’s pet and Bingo Card Maker. You will be asked how many bingo cards, columns, rows etc. After this your cards will be created and ready for printing.
