5 Antarctic Peninsula Since the Antarctic Peninsula is the most northern part of Antarctica (extending to within 1000km of South America) it has the most moderate climate of the three regions. Some of the Antarctic Islands near the Antarctic Peninsula for example, are warm enough to experience rain during the summer as opposed to snow all year round.

6 Antarctic Continental Coastal regions Since this region is so close to the sea, most of the snow that falls in Antarctica falls within 200km of the coast. this region experiences the highest accumulation of snow.

7 Antarictc Interior The interior of Antarctica is typically higher, drier and colder. Due to the lack of humidity, the interior is much colder that other regions colder. It typically also receives less sun light, and experiences much more severe differences in weather between summer and winter.
