11 Example Journal and vocab What is your Favorite book? Why? My favorite book is Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson. It is very exciting. I like it because it has a lot of action. 3 sentences to 5 sentences No more than 5 sentences

12 Example Journal and vocab Vocab Genre: A type of book A genre I like is science fiction. Fiction: A made up story A Fiction story I like is Mistborn. Non-Fiction: A true Story Non-fiction books I like are biographies

13 Events Calendar Sporting Events Other Events Let Mr. Vernon know All calendar items must be school appropriate.

14 Food and Drink No Food Water is fine No Colored drinks

15 Sleep Sleep in class will not be tolerated Nurse visit

16 Bathroom 1 pass means 1 person at a time Must let Mr. Vernon know Cannot go during a presentation or when someone is speaking unless it is an emergency Sign the pass take it with you Bring it back Abuse and loose

17 Pencil Jar If you continually take pencils you will be denied the right to the pencil jar.

18 Kleenex/Sharpening Only get Kleenex during work time unless it is an emergency Only sharpen pencils during work time Beginning and end of class, or when working on a individual assignment

19 Do not Move Chairs

20 Raise your hand When you want to speak you must raise your hand.

21 Folder System Each table has a set of folders. Yellow for turning in work. Red for Make up work. Blue for Class work.

22 Completed Work A separate completed work folder will be provided, no name work will have a folder as well that it is the students responsibility to check if they want credit for the work.
