3  Self disclose the right information and you’ll gain their interest.  Self-disclose the wrong information and you don’t stand a chance.  Self disclosure is not just what you say but HOW YOU SAY IT.

4  Disclosing that you have a college degree and then having spelling and grammatical errors.  Disclosing that you are organized, but your resume has no logical flow.  Not disclosing a specific resume objective that relates to the organization.  Not using appropriate words or phrases that are associated with the position.  Not using an professional email address.

12  The Cover Letter  Design and target letters to specific positions and organizations  To a specific person  Brief (Letter will become talking points for the interview.)  Explain WHY you are interested.  Avoid beginning the first paragraph with “I”  Do not repeat your resume.  Communicate enthusiasm  NO ERRORS!!!

13  Revise your resume for every job you apply for.  Collect insider information if possible.  Always follow up with a thank you note that is hand written.
