3 What are pronouns?  Pronouns take the place of nouns.

4 Personal Pronouns Refer to people or things ME! Include: I, me, my, mine, you, your, yours, he, him, his, she, her, hers, it, its, they, them, their, theirs, we, us, our, ours.

5 Case  Pg 149  Refers to the FORM a pronoun takes, depending on how it is used in the sentence.  Don’t believe me? How many different ways can you refer to yourself?

14 Antecedent (like ancestor!) Pronouns take the place of nouns. antecedent Pronouns take the place of nouns. The word or phrase replaced by a pronoun is called an antecedent.

15 Example: Halloween is one of America's holidays. It is celebrated in October. Halloween It (Halloween is a noun. It is a pronoun that refers to the antecedent, Halloween.)

17 Pronoun-Antecedent Agreement  A pronoun must agree in number (singular or plural) with any other word to which it refers.  The pool was crowded.
