3 Today’s Objective… Today we are going to analyze the Belgium takeover of the Congo by using this lecture, notebook, and our handout.

King Leopold II from Belgium asked Stanley to be his ambassador to the Congo people and mediate a treaty that would give Leo control of the Congo.
