1 Is going on holiday wrong? – Year 8 Lessons 4+5

2  Why are people going to Taal?  What are the positive impacts of tourism on Taal Volcano?  What are the negative impacts of tourism on Taal Volcano?  What is your view? Key Question today is… What sub-questions do we need to consider to answer the key question?

3  I want you to come up with a list of three new things you either learnt or did on the field trip.  They could be:  Knowledge you learnt  A skill you acquired  An experience you had

4  Write a report answering our key question:  A report means you will write in different sections with sub-headings for each one. Is tourism a good thing for Taal volcano?

5 Research Method When/ where you did it How you did it Why you did it Introduction Background info: Where is the volcano? Why is it important? What were the aims of your data collection? Method How you carried out your data collection. What did you do? How did you do it? Results This is where you put your presented data – graphs, annotated photographs etc. and talk about what they show. Conclusion What did you find out? Is tourism a good or a bad thing in your opinion for Taal Volcano Evaluation What problems were there with your data collection? How do you think you could improve it if you were given another chance? 500 MAX!

7 What makes this a good method of data display?

8  You have one key that will fit all graphs  This means you can make them nice and small!  Cut the map out of your field trip booklet (back page) and put it on a blank A4 piece of paper – surround it with your graphs and the key.  Locating results on maps – shows the patterns you find more clearly and it as fantastic geographical data presentation tool!

9  You have one more lesson and one more HWK to complete this SSA.  What is going to be your target to complete during next lesson?

10  How can I make my data useful?  What is meant by useful?  What tools are available to me?  Does it work for the end-user?
