1 Imaginative Writing – Ideas 1 Write a story based on a theme – love, hate, fate, jealousy, family relationships, rivalry, racism Write a story with a school setting – school dance, trip, charity event, talent contest, a quarrel, peer pressure, bullying Write a story in which the weather plays a significant part – heat, rain, storm, hurricane, flood

2 Imaginative Writing – Ideas 2 Write a story set in a real place which you know well. Write a story set in Scotland – make the setting important – try to use dialect Write the first chapter of a detective/mystery novel – build up atmosphere and end on a cliffhanger
