4. The Transfiguration
Implication of the suggestion is three greatest persons in Israel’s history
A way to honor, commemorate all three
A place for Moses and Elijah to remain
A cloud came Lk. 9:34
They entered the cloud v.34
A voice spoke from the cloud, “This is My Beloved Son, in Whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!” Matt. 17:5
Disciples were afraid of God’s voice v.6

5. The Transfiguration Jesus comforted and encouraged disciples v. 7
Only Jesus remained with disciples v.8
Jesus told them not to tell until He had risen from the dead v.9
They wondered what He meant Mark 9:10
They obeyed Him Luke 9:36
They asked about Elijah coming first Matt. 17:10
Jesus said Elijah is coming first and must restore all things v.11 He has come already v.12
Connects His suffering with Elijah’s v.12
