2 Monday, November 10 th Topic/ Focus: Immigration & Urbanization UNIT TEST AIM #16: What were the causes and effects of the Era of Immigration in the United States? DO NOW: 1. Copy down tonight’s HW (1 paragraph on the era of Immigration & Urbanization) - I’ll explain the directions in greater depth before class is over 2. Take 2-3 minutes to review any study materials 3. Begin Unit Test; Immigration & Urbanization

3 HW: Paragraph Directions:  Write a one paragraph explanation or historical context on the Era of Immigration & Urbanization  Here are some suggestions on what to include in your paragraph:  Reasons for immigration to the US  What types of messages was the US sending to immigrants early on and how did those messages change?  How immigrants were treated upon arriving in the US?  How did mass immigration lead to urbanization?  What were cities like during the late 1800’s/ early 1900’s?  This paragraph will be used for an activity we complete on Thursday

Submit Monday’s HW (Immigration & Urbanization Historical Overview Paragraphs) to bin in back of the room 2. Copy down tonight’s HW (At bottom of today’s packet, page 1) 3. Wait for today’s video to begin and answer the questions/ prompts on the front of today’s packet - Be ready to discuss your findings with a partner and as a class
