3. PURPOSE OF IOWA TIER

Iowa TIER ■Iowa TIER was developed to support Iowa schools’ use of an MTSS school improvement process. ■Currently, Iowa TIER houses reading universal screening data and progress monitoring data for students in preschool through grades 6. ■It is required that K-3 reading screening data are uploaded.

5. Questions Not Answers ■MTSS is about asking questions to identify where resources need to be allocated. ■MTSS is about both system improvement and supporting individual students. ■The graphs used by various teams will depend on the question being asked.

6. Question: Is the Universal Tier Sufficient (for the learners in our building today)? Purpose: Determine if the amount of resources currently focused on improving the universal tier (Iowa Core Implementation) is sufficient.
