1 Recap Last Lesson.... You will be given 3 minutes to revise last lessons content. I will then select a student from each team. You will have to stand up at the front of the class and describe the word I present without saying what is on the paper.

2 Learning Objectives... 1)Describe the characteristics of a skilful movement. 2)Using examples, Identify and describe the differences between unskilled and skilled performers. 3)Know the difference between performance and outcome goals.

3 Characteristics of a skilful movement Efficiency Pre-determined Co-ordinated Fluent Aesthetic.

4 In pairs... You must define all characteristics of skilful movements.

5 Skilled or Unskilled.... Watch the following clips and decide whether the performer is skilled or unskilled.... 6 Skilled or unskilled Exam question... Good players are often able to do the same skills to a high standard every time they play. These players are said to be consistent. Describe how a games player can become consistent and provide one example from a game of your choice to show the advantage of being consistent. (4marks)

7 Mark Scheme... Four marks, three marks for how and one mark for the example Guidance from coach/feedback Watching good role models Correct verbal advice Being physically guided by coach May break skills down into smaller parts Practice skills in a closed situation Move into an open situation Practice/training Example – e.g. in Netball to consistently shoot well means that points will be scored for the team. Success!

8 Outcome Goals.... Outcome goals are to do with winning or performing better than someone else. They refer to the desired end result e.g. winning the FA cup. Can you write down 2 examples of an outcome goal?

9 Performance Goals... Performance goals specify a specific standard to be achieved. It might be for a footballer to achieve a 100% pass accuracy in a game... Can you think of 2 examples of a performance goals?

10 DEBATE TIME In your teams you will be given the name of a sporting role model. You must – give reasons why your role model is the most skilful, giving reasons and practical examples to support your argument
