5 5 When working at an office desk or computer workstation, posture is very important. Below are the right and wrong positions when at a workstation.

6 6 The ideal workstation would include:  Proper adjustable chair  Proper sized monitor  Peripherals close to workstation  Ergonomic mouse  Keyboard at edge of desk  Proper desk height

7 7 Proper work practices should include:  Avoiding long periods of repetitive activities  Frequent short breaks  Simple and gentle exercise

8 8 To help reduce noise problems in the workplace a person should:  Take an active interest in the noise problems  Offer assistance to help reduce noise  Wear hearing protection if needed

9 9 RSI is caused by:  Repetitive movements  Constant forced movements  Awkward or strained posture Symptoms of RSI are:  Swelling  Numbness  Restricted and painful movement RSI can be avoided by:  Mixing repetitive and non repetitive activities  Taking breaks  Doing simple exercises during breaks  Proper workplace design
