3 Open Calls INNOSUP-7-2015: Professionalization of open innovation management in SMEs Deadline: 29.04.2015 17:00 (Brussels time) Budget: 1.70 MEUR Duration: 3 years Funding rate: 100% Specific Challenge: Lack of involvement of SMEs in the design and implementation of open innovation strategies Functioning strategies for SMEs would immensely benefit them in the fields of technology transfer, capital raising, resource optimization or networking 3  Urgent need to study how collaboration and/or open innovation is managed and organized in SMEs

4 Open Calls INNOSUP-7-2015: Professionalization of open innovation management in SMEs 4 Scope: Activity shall consist of the following elements: Collection and analysis of information and data on application of open innovation in SMEs EU-wide diffusion of success stories of SMEs using open innovation Development of practical management tools to support and explain the identified case studies Development and testing of open innovation indicators to support management support tools within an SME Expected impact: Increased collaboration of SMEs with external partners to innovate successfully Professional open innovation management by SMEs Creation of an online platform to disseminate best practice examples and complementary training modules

5 Open Calls INNOSUP-7-2015: Professionalization of open innovation management in SMEs 5 Conditions: Coordination and support action: At least one legal entity established in a Member State or Associated Country Conclusion of consortium agreement is required prior to grant agreement Take into account different situations for SMEs in different Member States and specific market segments Development of practical management support tools Collaboration with and awareness raising for open innovation support schemes being implemented

6 Open Calls MSCA-RISE-2015: Marie Skłodowska-Curie Research and Innovation Staff Exchange Deadline: 28.04.2015 17:00 (Brussels time) Budget: max. 2.43 MEUR per project (540 months of staff member unit cost of 2000EUR + 2500EUR institutional unit cost per secondment month) Duration:max. 4 years Funding rate: 100% Specific Challenge: Promote international and inter-sector collaboration through research and innovation staff exchanges, and sharing of knowledge and ideas from research to market (and vice-versa) Foster a shared culture of research and innovation that helps to turn creative ideas into innovative products, services or processes 6

7 Open Calls MSCA-RISE-2015: Marie Skłodowska-Curie Research and Innovation Staff Exchange Scope: Involvement of academic and non-academic sectors (in particular SMEs), based in Europe and outside Europe Development of partnerships in the form of joint research and innovation activities Knowledge sharing via mobility based on two-way secondments of research and innovation staff with an in-built return mechanism; either one dimension of mobility (intersectoral / international), or include a combination of both Enabling networking activities, organization of workshops and conferences to facilitate sharing of knowledge, new skills acquisition and career development Exchanges for both early-stage and experienced researchers' levels, as well as administrative, managerial and technical staff supporting the research and innovation activities of the proposal Expected impact: build or enhance new and existing networks of international and inter-sectoral cooperation Better align different cultures and expectations to a more effective contribution of research and innovation to Europe's knowledge economy and society 7

8 Open Calls MSCA-RISE-2015: Marie Skłodowska-Curie Research and Innovation Staff Exchange Conditions: At least three different countries of which at least two must be EU Member States or Associated Countries must be represented In case all participants are from the same sector (either only academic or only non-academic), at least one participant must be from a third country Total secondments of a maximum 540 person-months (min. 1 month to max. 12 months per staff member) Participants can be divided in two groups based on their level of participation: 1.Beneficiaries (signatory to the agreement) 2.Partner organizations (non-signatory of the agreement) Consortia involving partner organizations are encouraged to sign a partnership agreement Associated Countries: Support for the exchanges between institutions in the EU Member States and Associated Countries covers only inter-sectoral secondments Third Countries: Exchanges with institutions from third countries can be inter-sectoral secondments as well as secondments within the same sector; No secondments between institutions located in third countries or within the same EU Member State or Associated Country can be supported. 8

11 HEPTech Grants Management Past Deliverables INFRASUPP-1-2014: Innovation support measures R.I.M.: Research Infrastructure Marketplace Submitted: 02.09.2014 Budget of 2 MEUR Consortium of 16 partners (including 8 HEPTech members) INFRASUPP-3-2014: Strengthening the human capital of Research Infrastructures RAMIRI (Realising and Managing International Research Infrastructures) consortium led application Submitted: 02.09.2014 Budget of 2 MEUR HEPTech will support the project if funding is granted and signed a Letter of Support to this extent 11

European Spallation Source: H2020 & COST Screening for HEPTech Funding Opportunities  Selection of two suitable H2020 calls  Administrative support for one proposal in Spring 2015 Center for Technology Transfer and Innovation: Monthly report on European funding opportunities that might be interesting for HEPTech participants 12
