4 Framing The Session The look and feel of our movie can be affected by the title sequence and transitions. This lesson will focus on the following skills: *Creating opening and closing title sequences. *Importing digital still images into Movie Maker *Adding transitions between scenes.

5 Teaching What are possible sources of digital images? *A digital camera *Online download (www.pics4learning.org) *Scanning a digital picture into the computer. How can titles and transitions enhance a movie?

6 Guided Practice Today’s skill will focus on: Importing digital pictures into Movie Maker Creating a title sequence Creating transitions (see the tutorial for lesson 2 for specific directions)

7 Work Time

8 Getting Started Take the next 30 minutes to import still images into Movie Maker. Add titles and transitions to your movies. After 30 minutes we will come back together and share. Participant Activity Connect the digital still camera to the computer (if available). Download and save the sample digital pictures. (web) Import digital pictures into Movie Maker and include two pictures in your movie. Add titles and transitions to your movie. Save your Movie Maker project.

10 Students will share the following aspects of their project: Explain how the choices you have made regarding the title animations, fonts, and transitions have enhanced your movie. Share

11 How does this work address the questions that began the session? *We have seen how the choices we make as editors can effect the story. *We have observed how title sequences, and transitions can add to or subtract from the overall impact of a movie.
