2 VOCAB WORDS Values: are the benefits that you consider to be of great importance Character: the way a person thinks, feels, and acts Options: different choices that you can make Brainstorming: thinking of all the possible way to carry out your decisions

3 STEPS TO GOOD DECISIONS 1. identify the problem 2. consider your values 3. list the options 4. weigh the consequences 5. decide, and act 6. evaluate your choice

4 IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM A way to identify in the problem would be to think about what you are doing Sometimes you are in a tough situation and you need help/advice. You should ask a trusted friend or a parent for advice

5 CONSIDER YOUR VALUES Think about what kind of person you want to be Also, think about your character Character based on good values will help you make good decisions

6 LIST YOUR OPTIONS Brainstorm all the options you have Write a list of your options and compare them There is always more than one option to choose

7 WEIGH THE CONSEQUENCES When you are in a tough situation think of your risks and your benefits Your benefits are the positive things you will get out of your decision Your risks are the negative things you will get out of your decision

8 DECIDE, AND ACT Take action of your choice! When you make a decision stick with it. Don’t let others influence your choice

9 EVALUATE YOUR CHOICE Ask your self these questions Did your decision harm anyone? Were you unhappy with your results? Would another option have had a better result?
