3. Essential Life Skill It is important to teach PDHPE because it is an essential life skill. Students who are able to draw on knowledge, skills, values and understandings about PDHPE should be able to interact effectively with all areas of the curriculum.

4. Opportunities to Learn A comprehensive PDHPE curriculum provides opportunities for students to: learn practise and refine their skills knowledge and values thus providing a solid foundation for further education and effective participation in society.
