4. Structuring Cartoons & Sources Always focus on what the question is asking you. Is the source fully useful etc? Always refer to the source by identifying details from the source. “Use quotes” from the source too. Support your argument with details from your own knowledge Written answers Again, what is question about? Describe questions will be 5 markers: You just need to identify 5 points. No great depth needed. A brief sentence or two with 5 points Explain questions (7 marks) need two reasons explained (or three to be safe). You don’t need an intro. Start sentences, “The first reason was…” and refer back to the question. “This was important because…” 8 markers (SEA essays) Argument, Counter-argument, conclusion Arg.Counter-Arg. Timings: 1mark = 1 ½ mins. Perhaps leave slightly more for 8 markers
