6. 5 What are they used for?  A snapshot of a country’s statistical conditions  A focus on opportunities by highlighting strengths and weaknesses  A means to track over time results of capacity building efforts

9. 8 What do they show?  Quantitative indicators: “Statistics produced” assess the goal of countries of delivering statistical products Resources show the extent of countries’ success in obtaining resources, and their ability to use these resources in producing outputs  Qualitative indicators Serve as measures of efficiency and effectiveness of statistical production Are the necessary prerequisites in place? Are the core statistical processes performed according to international good practices? Are statistical products relevant and accessible to data users?
