1 Education and culture.

2 Culture. A network of cultural and arts institutions, including 783 libraries, 826 clubs, 3 exhibition halls, 35 museums, 137 children's music and art schools, 18 parks of culture and rest, 5 mid-level special educational institutions, and 10 theater performance schools have been established for the public.

3 Tomskaya Pisanitsa. Tomskaya Pisanitsa is an open-air museum, which is situated on the right bank of the river Tom in Yashkino area. It is a wonderful opportunity to see its 300 rare cave paintings and also dwellings, household appliances and military equipment of ancient people.

4 In our city there are 35 museums, such as: Kuzbass Museum of Physical Culture and Sport, Kemerovo Regional Museum of Fine Arts, which is one of the largest artistic centres of Siberia and Kuzbass and is having unique works of art collection of paintings, drawings, sculptures, decorative-applied arts, Kemerovo Regional Museum.

6 Education. Education is one of the most important components of child rearing. Children learn different subjects for future profession and things as communicating with people all ages. The first time they try to solve small problems. That’s why schools are very important and education should be given great attention.

7 There are 1,053 institutions of general education in Kemerovo Oblast attended by nearly 313, 000 students. Currently, Kuzbass can offer children quite a wide variety of schools and curricula so that they can make their own choices. About 16% of schoolchildren study in specialised schools ('lyceum', 'gymnasia') and innovative schools and classes specialising in some particular disciplines.

8 Nursery schools. The first stage is of course nursery school, where small child try to socialize with his coeval. Beginnings Nursery School strives to create a nurturing and stimulating environment grounded in respect for children and the ways that they learn.

9 Second stage is schools. As was said, there are some types of schools. For example lyceum or gymnasia, special remedial general educational school or boarding school. Every year about 150 children finish school with honours and are awarded gold medals.

10 City classical lyceum. This lyceum is one of the best schools in our city. Lyceum was founded in 1989 on the basis of school № 62 on the initiative of the Head of administration of Kemerovo State University and the City of Kemerovo.

11 Kemerovo State University (KemSU) was established in 1973 as a successor to Kemerovo Pedagogical Institute. The university specializes in rare languages such as the Shor language, and has begun a revival of the regional languages.

12 Kuzbass State Technical University. Now it is the largest higher educational institution in the region. The University has imposing personnel's potential. There are 684 instructors in it.
