1. { Szolnok, the town where we come from, is 100 km from the Hungarian capital city, Budapest. The population is 77000 people, so it is a middle-sized town. It is situated on the bank of the river Tisza. Our town is over 900 years old. We do not have many historic buildings as most of them have been destroyed by the Turks and during the II. World War.

2. If you come to Szolnok, you must visit our spa bath and go for a walk along the river Tisza. We have a quite active sports and cultural life. The most popular sports are waterpolo and basketball. You can try water sports too.

3. Our school is over 180 years old and attended by pupils aged 14-18. Our School is named after Ferenc Verseghy, a famous Hungarian writer and poet who also translated the Marsailles into Hungarian. It is situated in a beautiful area, on the bank of the river Tisza.

4. Our school has gained a good reputation for its achievements, mostly in science subjects. Our students often take part in regional and national competitions in different subjects with very good results. School leavers take their final exams succesfully and normally get access to the best universities and colleges both in Hungary and abroad. Our scool ranked the 17th best school in Hungary.

5. Everybody has to choose two different languages: -English -German -French There are afternoon courses in Spanish, Russian and Latin.

6. The first lesson starts at 7:30. We normally have 6-8 lessons a day. We do not have to wear a uniform for everyday use. Unfortunately, the classes are big. There are 30 students in a class. But we learn some subjects in smaller groups.

7. Besides studying our school offers a wide variety of afternoon activities like trainings, singing in the chor, drama classes. We have a large, well equipped gym which is also used for different school events, celebrations. We have a beautiful library lately enlarged with a gallery containing a large collection of compulsory literature, dictionaries and scientific course books. The most popular places in the building are the school buffet and the club-room where we can watch films, relax and chat between and after lessons.
