2 Your Choice, Your Voice Leicestershire Together has made £20,000 available to each of Melton’s 3 Community Forums for allocation through a Participatory Process Money has to be spent by March 2011 Participatory Process agreed through Melton Community Partnership

3 Your Choice, Your Voice - Process Melton Community Partnership set priorities Improving access to services Supporting and developing young people Regenerating Melton Mowbray Town Centre Workshop – Generating & sharing ideas & putting them in order of priority 18 project ideas put forward 9 projects put to final vote 1)Priority ideas developed further into robust projects – co-ordinated by Task Group 2)Feedback from Task Group to Community Forum on how funding can be allocated in line with the workshop priorities 3)Melton Community Partnership has agreed it will allocate funding, in line with the recommendation by the Community Forum

6 Your Choice, Your Voice Task Group – Role: Work with project groups to ensure that priority projects are -APPROPRIATE - in line with the 3 priorities for the area - not duplicating, value for money -FEASIBLE -Can project be delivered by March 2011 -SUSTAINABLE -Does project provide real solution with longer term benefit -Will project lead to problems further down the line

7 Your Choice, Your Voice After the workshops … Priority Projects Other Project Ideas Project Development TASK GROUP co-ordinates Forum Recommends allocation LSP Decides allocation Signposting Ideas are circulated to various funders, advisors and relevant officers to identify further opportunities for funding & support

8 Project updates Penman Spicer Centre - Referred to VAL for advice / support; Ownership and Governance, Community Interest Company, Rental Income, Emergency Repair Fund, Early Years Service, Community Matters, Rural Community Council, Social Enterprise Funding Older Person’s Fitness – Rotary are looking to take this on as it hits one of their priorities for the next year and will liaise with Age Concern Melton directly Teens Bar – is an idea we have referred to the Learning Hub as a possible project for them to take on

Report from the Task Group on progress with the Priority Projects identified at the workshop Task Group has made recommendations on how best to allocate the Forum’s budget in line with the results of the workshop Melton Community Partnership will accept tonight’s recommendations from Forum With Forum’s endorsement these recommendations will be fed back to Melton Community Partnership so that funding can be released

There is also a link to the River Regeneration Project to ensure access to the river. £5,000 1 Melton Learning Hub £8,000 to create a website to help generate business and ensure the sustainability of Melton Learning Hub which is in the processs of becoming a Community Interest Company. £8,000 3 Melton Victorian Fayre £3,000 to support Melton Victorian Christmas Fayre for one year whilst it puts itself on to a more sustainable footing for the future. £3,000 4 St John’s Ambulance CPR dummies £3004 originally requested to purchase a number of “Resussi Annies” to be used by St Johns Ambulance to train community organisations (eg, Youth, Charitable, Schools etc) in first aid/ resuscitation. However Melton Lions have already kindly donated £624 for some of the necessary equipment so the total required has now reduced to £2380 £2,380 5 River Regeneration project Dredge the river and clear weeds as a step towards making it a navigable public amenity and visitor attraction. Some funding has already been secured for this, the remainder of the Forum budget would act as a contribution to the total to assist with Project 1 £1,620 TOTAL AMOUNT UP TO £20,000 £20,000 All budget allocated
