6 East Northamptonshire Council Landfill taxes  Created in 1997, over £700m raised  2003 directed to fund community and environment projects within 10 miles of landfill site (some now limit to 5)  In East Northamptonshire, Cory, SITA, Hanson, Shanks, Biffa, King’s Cliffe, Thornhaugh

7 East Northamptonshire Council Charitable Trusts  Can be geographically limited  Often have set themes to support  Grants given can range from very small to very large  Are usually only available to charitable bodies, BUT some accept not-for-profit
