1 How to use Levels to help you keep track of your progress: The following slides contain assessment information for the drawing and painting activities undertaken in this unit. You can read through the document to get an idea of what you will be doing over the next few weeks, and what you need to do in order to achieve certain levels. When you start activities on each level, you can circle C. When you have completed the majority of the activities on each level you can circle B. When all activities on a level have been completed and you feel confident to progress you can circle A The final level for this unit will be a combination of different marks, decided by Mr Hebden after discussing your work with you during the unit.

2 Exploring and Researching Analyzing and Evaluating I can make sure every page has a title and date. I can stick in pictures neatly, cutting them out and labeling them appropriately. I can find out information about what we have studied in class and write it in my book in my own words. I leave no blank pages. I can compare and discuss the work of different Artists. I can comment on why they made artwork. I can discuss my own work and talk about how to change or improve it. I am starting to take creative risks when I present my research. My sketchbook is looking colorful and exciting. I have selected interesting information to add to the work that we covered in class. I can discuss why and how Artists made different artworks. I can talk about how ideas develop according to context (what was happening in the life of the Artist) I can evaluate my own work, and other peoples, by thinking about why it was made. I can refine my own work after evaluating it. I am working more independently, using ideas that we look at in class to help me explore Art on my own. I am recording my ideas in imaginative and creative ways, trying out different materials and resources. My sketchbook is showing a strong sense of design and layout considerations. When I look at Artwork I can interpret it and explain what ideas and meanings it may contain. I can evaluate my own work and talk about the value and purpose of it. I can use critical understanding to improve my work independently.

My sketchbook contains some imaginative and independent artwork. I can explain why and how different ideas are expressed in different genres of Art. I can appreciate and explain cultural context. I can explain how my understanding of Art work by other people has made my own Art work better.
