3. Summary: Gemma Doyle is not like other girls, great mannered, knows when it’s the right time to speak and when not to speak. Girls who know there place, who are graceful and lie back to think of England when it is wished of them. No, not at all, gemma is a sixteen year old girl and in her own little world, that must be sent to Spence academy in London after tragedy strikes her family in India. Now, lonely and feeling guilty, and also prone to have visions of the future that sadly come true most of the time.

4. Gemma has found that a mysterious man has been following her to help her with her visions. When gemma’s power to attract supernatural things unfolds she is unfortunately the most powerful at Spence. At Spence she gets wrapped up with the schools most powerful girls and discovers the order, shadowy timeless group that has a connection with her mother it is there that her destiny waits…but she must believe in it first.

5. Point of view: Gemma Doyle is a sixteen year old girl from India. She has a gift of seeing the future good or bad and they come true..most of the time. Tragedy strikes and she must go to Spence academy where her visions are the most powerful, she also must believe in herself because her mother has a connection with a shadowy timeless group called the order and that is where her destiny lies. There are also powerful girls at Spence that are just making it harder…..

6. Conflicts! Gemma cant stop the visions and its not save at all. Kartik is trying to help gemma and she doesn't listen and is trying to bring back her dead mother. Gemma has more power then she knows and gets herself in trouble she doesn't know how to get out of.

9. In A Great And Terrible Beauty, the author uses quite a bit foreshadowing when Gemma sees her visions, he also uses symbolism with Gemma’s mothers crest eye.

10. Some of my likes was the way that gemma was in a certain time and when she had her vision’s they were in modern time I thought that that was very cool. I also liked the way she had an enemy that became a friend she didn’t stay mad at her like at the lake gemma helped her look good instead of bad and didn’t hold a grudge I liked that also. Some of my dislikes where how in the story they made it out like the Spence academy was out in the middle of no where or at least that’s how I saw it.

11. Our Audience! A Great And Terrible Beauty, is a book that is going to use a lot of imagination. If you like movies with magic worlds outside of worlds and dark witchcraft then you with love this book! This book has an interesting combination of fantasy, light horror, and historical fiction, with a dash of romance thrown in there. It is mainly for ages 12 and up boy or girls, but I would prefer it for a girl because of the fact that the main character is a girl in a boarding school.

12. Libba Bray, is the type author that writes at all times no matter what. She has to write or she will become depressed, and feel itchy she says. She was born and lived in Texas till she was 26 then she moved to New York City with nothing but $600.00 (in her shoe)and a punchbowl under her arm(present from grandmother). She also has an artificial eye, she lost her real one in a car accident when she was sixteen actually she had to get her whole face rebuilt it was just that bad. She has a really great humor though, when she first go her (eye) she froze it in some water and put in her friends drink and watched him freak. (that’s a good one) She got married in Florence, Italy and they where in love but very broke so there witness was a man pulled from off the street ( it was so romantic though) Libba Brays idea of heaven is her, her new notebook and a hot cup of java coffee in her favorite coffeehouse.(oh yeah )
