Blocks can be composed of other blocks. Each block can represent something as small as a paragraph of text, or a test question, or a link to a video. Blocks can be composed of other blocks. A block can be as large as the course itself. Blocks can be reshuffled and reused to create new courses.

Biomedical Big Data Training Collaborative biobigdata.ucsd.edu Biomedical Big Data Toolbox The BBDTC system supports two categories of Virtual Machine Toolboxes: a Downloadable VM toolbox and an Amazon EC2 VM toolbox. i) Downloadable VM toolbox: In this category, the software tools are shared as a downloadable light-weight Virtualbox Image. The downloadable VM toolbox allow users to get a standardized software tool environment with with their required software dependencies and the necessary test data on their personal machines. i) Amazon EC2 VM Toolbox: This category provides a ready-to-go solution for scalable big data experiments. The users will be able to access an Amazon EC2 Virtual Machines through the BBDTC website. The system utilizes noVNC, a HTML5 based VNC client.

Uses an earlier virtualization technology (OpenVZ) to host applications and their dependencies on the server itself. Users ‘remote-desktop’ from a web-browser window.
