4. THINGS TO REMEMBER Reason for picking that trend-line? Trend lines try to best fit historical data. Forward trend lines try to predict future. Avoid moving average trend lines (usually given in the instructions). See if trend line makes sense or not? For example: Population trend-line for a city might decrease, but not likely to go to zero (even though the R-Squared value is close to 1). 4
