3 The wonders of Kenya amaze!

4 From the wildlife...

5... to the people...

6... every day brings a new thrill to a visitor.

7 We often forget Kenya, a developing country, needs our help.

The 800 residents of the Maasai village of Oltorotua need our help!

9 Oltorotua village Oltorotua is just outside the remote Maasai Mara Game Reserve in the Great Rift Valley (Also spelled Masai Mara and called “the Mara” by locals)

Water is very difficult to find and is unsafe to drink.

No sanitary way to dispose of human wastewater is available. This threatens the environment and the health of the people.

Fetching water can be dangerous because of the presence of many large wild animals, including cats and African buffalo.

Because of the long distance, fetching water consumes much of the day of the women of Oltorotua.

14 Fetching water, a typical daily scene in Kenya

15 Filling the water containers for the walk home.

16 Taking the Water back to Oltorotua
