3 Abolitionist Journal Assignment You are going to pretend that you are an abolitionist writing in your journal, reflecting on your life. It has to be written in the first person. Must be typed. Early Life Start by reflecting on your childhood. -Where were you born? -What happen during your childhood? -How did you become an abolitionist?

4 Mid-life/ Career What were your experiences when you were an abolitionist? -What were your accomplishments? -What were your highs and lows of life? Later-life Reflect on your later years. -What were your later accomplishments? -Did you continue fighting for the abolitionist movement… freedom for African-Americans? -What other causes did you fight for? DO NOT INCLUDE A DEATH DATE!!!

5 Grading Assignment is due on Feb 3-4, 2014. Follow the rubric for grading. The following extra credit will be offered: -25% of a point, if portrait is included. -25% of a point, if you write about an abolitionist not covered in class.
