Stress is the reaction of the body and mind to everyday challenges and demands. How much stress you feel depends on how you perceive things. Perception is the act of becoming aware through stress.

Stressors are anything that causes stress. Biological stressors, such as illnesses Environmental stressors, such as noise, crowds Cognitive stressors, perception of the situation Personal Behavior: negative actions of the body and mind caused by behaviors. Life situation stressors: death, divorce, relationships

“Fight or Flight” response Fatigue Physical: body becomes tired Psychological: mind becomes tired Pathological: can’t fight off disease

Plan Ahead Get adequate sleep Get regular physical activity Eat nutritious foods Avoid tobacco, alcohol and other drugs
