Put these in order of 1 (most important) to 10 (least important) Planning my summer holiday

6 Study Skills - 2006 Time Management That exercise was about prioritising: when we say we haven’t enough time to do something we often mean that we don’t see it as a priority. Do you currently view your revision as being a high enough priority? Or are you being too strict on yourself?

7 Study Skills - 2006 Time Management Good time managers assert their priorities: e.g. you’re asked to the cinema but had planned on revising- “Not today because I need to work. How about at the weekend?” Don’t have revision as your only priority: at times you’ll need to assert that you’ve done enough revision. You also need to rest, play sport or relax with friends.

Hours per weekday x number of weekdays left Hours per Saturday x number of Saturdays left Hours per Sunday x number of Sundays left Add up the three totals= number of hours left for revision Make sure you haven’t counted the days you can’t revise Divide this by the number of weeks left = hours revision per week 2 x 90 = 180 3 x 20 = 60 300 ÷ 20 = 15

You don’t have to give the same amount of time to each subject You might spend more time on the subjects you find hardest You don’t have to give the same amount of time to each topic You might spend more time on the hardest or largest units

20 Study Skills - 2006 You can even give a copy to your parents to show you ARE thinking about your revision! Time Management Remember: Timetables reduce stress levels by putting you in control of your revision. They should reduce the problem of late night revision the day before the exam.

21 Study Skills - 2006 Time Management Stay calm if you get behind schedule. By having planned to complete your revision by the date of your first exam, you can use the time between exam days to catch up.
