5 What is Evaporative Cooling? Evaporative cooling is a natural phenomena which occurs naturally whenever water comes into contact with warm air. Natural evaporation takes place which absorbs the heat and cools the hot air by several degrees.

9 Carbon Costing Carbon cost per person Carbon cost per student/ per class/ per module Further refinement to establish carbon cost per course Refine room profiles to include U-values per room On campus Vs remote learning Areas Still to Develop Energy Conservation tool Strategic target setting across university departments Future Estates strategies, to seeks energy efficiency across campus (university hot spots)

10 University Wide Strategic Approach Central control of IT resource development processes Increasing Awareness Green induction programmes for staff and students Environmental Champions Course/ Project Impact Green taught modules Campus awareness Computer life costs, and Levy charges on new purchases Green timetabling Carbon rating tool Low energy procurement strategy Carbon linked budgeting

11 ECCILES Everyone knows the problem... Everyone has a solution But no one can agree!!!! ECCILES A greener way of working A greener university
