3 Omen (n): A sign for something bad to happen or occur. Voluptuous (adj.) full of indulgence; gratification Ritual (n) established procedure; something done regularly Berserk (v.) wild, crazed. Interrogate (n.) to question with intent Muttered (v.) to complain, murmur, grumble; speak under one’s breath to avoid being heard. Predicament (n.) unpleasantly, difficult situation to deal with; dangerous situation

4 Mundane (n) – common, ordinary, unimaginative Lorraine’s mundane lifestyle of studying and reading science books causes her to be considered boring and uninteresting to other high school kids. infantile (adj.) – childish, acting in a babyish manner John’s temper tantrums when he is not give what he wants proves that his infantile behaviors are not acceptable. Hovel (n) – a very small house; disorganized home Mr. Pignati’s home has too many small trinkets and left over items from his wife, and this hovel is filthy and messy.
