2. Shot 2 This shot is the first one with all of these 3 characters in it together, making a significant due to the high profile characters involved. This 3 shot shows the two police men and Harry Brown all stood together. The slight low angle looking up to the characters shows them all on the same level, which implies that the police don’t think they are any more significant than the old man. All the characters are stood centered in the room which allows the audience to see the kind of environment that the scene is set in, which happens to be Harry Browns house. The decoration of the room is slightly old fashioned which signifies the living of an old man, and how he isn’t up to date with societies modern living standards. The only light in the room comes from the back of the characters which darkens their clothing and sets a more sinister tone.

3. This over the shoulder shot enables the audience to see the character in the middle severely scarred all over this body. The grimy looking background suggests that this man is highly addicted to using drugs, and that his severe use has caused him to end up harming himself, furthermore suggesting the idea that this man needs rehabilitation in order to stop taking drugs and essentially change his life for the better.

4. This long shot highlights the mise-en-scene, as the scenery is covered in graffiti, connoting the idea that the youth are up to no good, as they are happy to vandalize their local surroundings. The use of including Harry Brown in this scene juxtaposes the rest of the scene, as we don’t connote elderly people as violent. This shows the audience that Harry Brown is a man of action, and he is willing to get things done in order to bring justice to society after the death of his friend.

5. The text shows off how the film stars the ‘two time Academy Award winner Michael Caine’. The ‘two time Academy Award winner’ suggests that Michael Caine is one of the finest actors in the world, as he has a prestigious title to his name. The size of the text increases significantly when the text says ‘Michael Caine’, and it is also in capital letters, therefore possibly connoting the idea that Michael Caine is a massive Hollywood name, and that he is rather famous. The size also reiterates the idea that the film wants to showcase the fact they have managed to acquire a famous actor to star in their film.

6. In this high angled wide shot we can see three people. One has a dog on a lead and another is riding a bike past them. The person on the bike appears to be handing the other person something small. The use of the high angle is to show that we are looking down on them. This can mean that they are lower down in society. From looking at their clothes they fit in with this image as they all have their hoods up and are wearing joggers. This kind of clothing normally links to those who are in the underbelly of society.

7. In this low angled close up we can see two men laughing and one with a gun in his hand. The connotation of the gun represents these two characters as being violent and corruptive. The use of the low angle is done to show them having more power over the audience due to their use of weaponry.
